'Swift Counters' oil on canvas
Swift Counters
Oil on canvas
18"h x 24"w
At the end of my block is the old school chimney stack
that is the way stop for up to 9000 Faux Swifts.
When they show up, so do these intrepid birders.
They watch and count them every evening, and report
their count to the Audobon Society.
The birds circle and gather until, as if on cue, they start to dive
into the chimney taking less than a couple of minutes
for all of them to clear the sky.
A big "Thank You" to all the beautiful people keeping a watch on the planet.
Swift Counters was painted plein air in Rainier, Oregon.
Original oil painting with an artists slat frame.
Museum grade archival paints, canvas, and stretcher.
