Wayne's World

 In these turbulent times of environmental threats and political unrest, we begin to see the fragility of our civilization and existence.  To help deal with existential gloom, we humans create our world as beautiful and as close to paradise as we can. The word 'paradise' translates as 'closed garden'.  I believe that residential landscapes best define who we are.  Wayne is shown mowing his lawn as Jody, across the street, works her garden on the reverse slope of her front yard.  The view is idyllic, and you can see the chair Wayne uses in the evening to enjoy the view.  Even though the view across the river is mostly industrial, that doesn't diminish the beauty of the landscape.  This painting is about how we create and live in our own private paradises.
