The Painting
The Red House on the little knoll is painted from a maquette - a small artist made modeI. I scratch built this maquette Red House from paper, then made a mini painting of it on the model landscape, also scratch built.

The Paper House
This is the scratch built miniature house you see portrayed in the Red House mini painting.
Being an artist, I created this miniature house as art. This piece is an expression of my imagination that can be appreciated for it's uniqueness.
I use re-purposed or recycled materials in my art when possible. I built this piece from heavy duty art paper I won at an art show.
This paper house is on a 7¼"wide x 6"deep heavy card stock.
The house includes one big tree, cedars and bushes around the house, all scratch made. The tree is made from a dried flowering bush that grows in my front yard. I made the bushes from sponges.
There's a small blossoming tree in front that I didn't make, it was part of a Christmas present that also came with the two figures you see on the steps - one is standing near the front door, and one on the back doorstep.
The house itself has two chimneys and a widows walk on the roof that has a tiny hand cut paper railing. I also cut out all those paper window frames.
The house is 5¼" wide, 5½" deep, and 4" high.
This scene comes on a natural brown hand-made wood base with an artist made (that's me), glass display case. 11"wide x 8" deep x 6½" high.
