I could not ignore the explosion of red when this tree changed so dramatically while I was painting it in 'Wayne's World'. When I started 'Wayne's World', it was early Spring, and the tree was just starting to sprout leaves. By the time I was wrapping that painting up, I felt compelled to set up this smaller canvas right next to it, working on both paintings simultaneously. The tree's metamorphism says something about "change', but I don't know what it all means.
